This Technology Centre will be a driving force behind the vision of ‘Make in Bihar’: Hon’ble Chief Minister
Patna:Date 28.04.26 In a defining moment for Bihar’s industrial resurgence, a landmark event in Patna marked the launch of a series of transformative initiatives aimed at advancing technological innovation, strengthening the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, and catalyzing inclusive economic growth.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Samrat Choudhary, along with the Hon’ble Union Minister for MSME, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, jointly inaugurated a cutting-edge Technology Centre at Bihta (Patna). Designed as a hub of advanced manufacturing, skill development, and innovation, the Centre is poised to become a cornerstone of Bihar’s evolving industrial landscape.
In a significant expansion of its outreach, Extension Centres in Muzaffarpur, Rohtas, Darbhanga, and Munger were also inaugurated, ensuring that the benefits of modern technology and technical expertise permeate deeper into the state. Complementing these efforts, a Special Vendor Development Programme under the National SC/ST Hub was launched, reinforcing the commitment to empower entrepreneurs from marginalized communities and integrate them into formal industrial value chains.
In his address, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary emphasized that Bihar is entering a new era of industrial dynamism. He described the Technology Centre as a powerful symbol of the state’s forward-looking vision—one that prioritizes skill, innovation, and enterprise. Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he stated that the focus remains on creating an enabling ecosystem where youth are not only job seekers but emerge as job creators. Anchored in the vision of Make in Bihar, the Centre is set to unlock new avenues of investment, foster innovation, and nurture entrepreneurship at scale.
Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi described the initiative as a milestone in Bihar’s industrial journey. He underscored that the Technology Centre and its extension network will serve as engines of capability-building—equipping youth and entrepreneurs with industry-relevant skills while seamlessly linking them to national and global markets. He noted that such initiatives translate the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat into tangible, grassroots impact.
The programme also highlighted the government’s strong push towards grassroots empowerment. Toolkits were distributed to beneficiaries under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana and Gramodyog Vikas Yojana, while beneficiaries of the PMEGP scheme received financial assistance. Certificates were awarded under the SC/ST Hub scheme—collectively reinforcing a robust ecosystem for self-employment and enterprise development across communities.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished public representatives, including Shri Naval Kishore Yadav (Member, Legislative Council), Smt. Deepak Kumari (MLA, Imamganj), Shri Romit Kumar Singh (MLA, Atri), and Shri Lalan Manjhi (MLA, Kutumba).
Senior officials present on the occasion included the Chief Secretary of Bihar, Shri Pratyay Amrit; Secretary, Department of Industries, Shri Kundan Kumar; Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner (MSME), Dr. Rajneesh; Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Kumar Ravi; and Director General of Police (Operations), Bihar, Shri Kundan Krishnan.
With initiatives like these, the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar continues to lay a strong foundation for a resilient and future-ready industrial ecosystem. The inauguration of the Technology Centre stands as a decisive stride toward a more innovative, self-reliant, and industrially empowered Bihar—firmly positioning the state on a high-growth trajectory.
