In the midst of the election battle in West Bengal, a war of words has broken out between Uttar Pradesh IPS officer Ajay Pal Sharma and Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Jahangir Khan. Sharma first warned Jahangir Khan in this matter. Subsequently, Jahangir Khan has responded and directly warned Ajay Pal Sharma.
Ajay Pal Sharma has been posted as an observer in the South 24 Parganas district for the West Bengal elections. During his duty there, Sharma issued a stern warning to Jahangir Khan, the TMC candidate from the Falta constituency, which Sharma, in a video, conveyed through Jahangir’s family.

Actually, it is being reported that some people had filed a complaint that Jahangir Khan’s supporters were intimidating people. In this connection, Ajay Pal Sharma went to Jahangir Khan’s house yesterday, Monday, April 27th, accompanied by central security forces. Upon arriving, he said that if anyone misbehaved, they would be dealt with legally. Jahangir’s family members are also present. Inform them properly. Regarding the repeated reports that Jahangir’s supporters are threatening, we will take a thorough look. Don’t cry and regret later.
The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has shared a video of Ajay Pal Sharma. It reads: “Ajay Pal Sharma, an encounter specialist with the Uttar Pradesh Police and known as Singham, has been posted as a police supervisor in South 24 Parganas. He has just issued a stern warning to the family of Jahangir Khan, a henchman of his nephew.”
Following the release of this video of Ajay Pal Sharma, a video of Jahangir Khan has also surfaced. Holding a microphone, Jahangir addresses his supporters, saying, “They’ve started the game, but we’ll end it.” Jahangir says, “Today they’re showing a lot of tricks, they’ve started the game, but we’ll end it. The picture is still looming, my friend. You think you can scare us with the CRPF, but if we even walk to this seat, your CRPF will be decimated.”
IPS officer Ajay Pal Sharma, known as “Singham” and “encounter specialist” in the Uttar Pradesh Police, has been fielded in the Bengal elections. The Election Commission has appointed him as a police observer for South 24 Parganas district, considered the impregnable stronghold of Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, Abhishek Banerjee. A video of IPS officer Ajay Pal Sharma is circulating on social media, in which he is seen sternly warning a TMC candidate. In the video, IPS officer Ajay Pal Sharma is seen issuing a stern warning to Jahangir Khan’s supporters. He directly mentions Jahangir’s name and bluntly declares, “All the people around should understand clearly that if anyone misbehaves, they will be dealt with appropriately. If any news comes from anywhere that someone is trying to misbehave or harass someone, we will take strict action. Make him (Jahangir) understand that if anyone tries to misbehave, we will take strict action.” If they threaten or intimidate, they will be dealt with thoroughly. Don’t cry or regret later.
Akhilesh Yadav said, “We will neither let them escape nor go underground.”
Akhilesh Yadav shared a video of Ajay Pal on his social media handle X. He also raised questions, saying that in West Bengal, the BJP has sent vetted agents to Rampur and Sambhal in the name of observers, but nothing will come of them. Didi is there, Didi will remain there. When the right time comes, all the criminal acts of these “agenda agents” of the BJP and its allies will be thoroughly investigated and action will be taken. These are all unregistered underground members of unregistered people posing as officials.
Akhilesh further said, “We will neither let them escape nor go underground. They will be hunted down, dug out, and will face legal punishment for their misdeeds. Criminals of democracy will not be spared!”
