36 days movement at Jantar Mantar. Demonstration from Parliament to PM residence. There is a war of narratives in the media and a war of words between the pros and cons. The only issue was the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the NEET paper leak case. All this has ended today with the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. There were many speculations, but there was little discussion that Dharmendra Pradhan would resign so easily. The reason was that there were continuous reports that the government was not even considering taking the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Even after this, if Pradhan has resigned then it is important and PM Modi, in his own style, has once again tried to surprise contrary to all expectations.

With this effort he has also snatched an opportunity from the hands of the opposition. The opportunity which was uniting the entire opposition could have strengthened the Congress and its face Rahul Gandhi, who had been facing defeat in election after election for the last 12 years. This movement was expanding in many parts of the country including Patna, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Bengaluru, Kolkata. In such a situation, opposition parties in different parts of the country could take advantage of this sentiment and strengthen their ground against BJP. By taking the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP has snatched this opportunity from the opposition. July 20 was the peak day of the movement. The way Rahul Gandhi staged a dharna outside the PM’s residence that day, he became headlines. His pictures of him having a scuffle with the police went viral and it was the first time in more than a decade when he was seen becoming a leader on the streets.

Such an opportunity was giving him the strength to make a big face. In such a situation, the government has tried to destroy the very essence of the movement, which could nourish the politics of Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and many opposition leaders. Today again the government was going to talk to the people of CJP. Speculations were rife whether the opposition was getting stronger on this pretext. Monsoon session is going to be held again from Monday and the government does not want this issue to flare up again. In such a situation, the resignation was taken even before Monday. Even so, the opposition parties were not able to create such a big movement on this issue at their level.

Many opposition parties including Congress could have become stronger on this pretext, but
It is a matter of relief for the government that the group of people carrying out the Cockroach Party banner movement is not a political organization and the opposition parties did not start this movement on their own. But under the guise of the student movement, new life could have come to many parties including the Congress. The government has tried to grab the same opportunity slowly. Even in the farmers’ movement, after a year had passed, the movement had reached a tipping point and was suddenly ended by PM Modi by withdrawing the decision. PM Modi has again surprised everyone from the opposition to the agitators in the same manner. Now to know how much the ground situation has changed after this movement, we will have to wait till the elections in 5 states including UP and Punjab.
