The impact of the movement launched by the Cockroach Janata Party against the paper leak has been felt. The country’s government has bowed to Gen-Z, and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted his resignation on Twitter. He said, “I have sent my resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I have taken responsibility for this from day one and have never shied away from this situation. I am saddened by the events of the last 10 days. This is not a matter of personal prestige for me.” Pradhan said that the situation at Jantar Mantar and across the country should not be exploited by anti-national forces, and that national unity should be maintained.
He also posted a note, writing, “I have been dedicated to students, teachers, and education reform for over four decades. I have always believed that a strong, inclusive, and visionary education system is the foundation of a strong nation.” I deeply respect the aspirations, sentiments, and just expectations of the youth of this country. Fulfilling the dreams of India’s young generation has been the moral commitment of all of us in political and social life. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for the opportunity I have received to serve the nation under the visionary leadership of the respected Prime Minister.
Following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a statement from CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was released. He wrote, “We have done it. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. In this way, democracy has triumphed.” CJP posted a video on Instagram, in which Abhijeet Dipke, naming the students who committed suicide due to the NEET paper leak, declared that they have received justice. He said, “The world bows down, but it needs someone to bow down.”
Earlier, CJP had clearly stated that there can be no compromise on Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation regarding the controversy surrounding the NEET paper leak. Additionally, the CJP has demanded a public apology from the protesting students for the brutal beatings. It also demanded compensation of ₹1 crore each for the families of the students who committed suicide after the cancellation of the NEET exam. The CJP also met with JP Nadda, where the government agreed in principle to compensation and withdrawal of FIRs. Furthermore, other opposition parties, including the Congress, were demanding Pradhan’s resignation. In this regard, the government had talked about taking steps such as a CBI investigation, a fast-track court, and re-examinations to prevent the paper leak.
Following Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, reactions began pouring in from outside the CJP.
Rahul Gandhi: Calling it the power of youth, he said that this is a major moral victory for the opposition and students against dictatorship and paper leaks.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: Referring to the government’s capitulation, he said that the youth and students of the country have proven the power of their voice.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has described the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as a major victory (inquilab ki jeet) for the new generation and the youth movement. Speaking to the media in Azamgarh, he said that the world’s largest party (BJP) has finally bowed to the power of the country’s youth and Gen-Z.
