The opposition, led by Rahul Gandhi, is preparing to trap the Narendra Modi government in a major Chakravyuha regarding the NEET 2026 paper leak. The protests at Jantar Mantar and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan have significantly impacted the central government’s morale. The opposition is also continuously cornering the central government on this issue in Parliament. However, the game behind the scenes is different. This entire game is now being played with the intention of keeping the BJP entangled or trapped in these issues until the 2027 assembly elections in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, and the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
The opposition has received a major boost from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)’s movement against the NEET 2026 paper leak. In fact, the opposition’s protests and voices against the government have not been able to reach a significant segment of the public. A large number of people were joining this movement. Even days after the demonstration, the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) left no stone unturned to capitalize on this opportunity.
While Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav joined the protesters outside the Prime Minister’s residence, Mamata Banerjee has already been repeatedly appealing to the India Bloc to remain united to stop the BJP.
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Deepak visited the residence of senior advocate and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal. All these incidents indicate the opposition’s preparations for a massive campaign against the BJP.
The BJP-led NDA government is being constantly attacked and engaged on issues related to rising unemployment, paper leaks, and recruitments. These issues directly concern the youth, and the recent youth protests appear to be giving the opposition a significant advantage.
The opposition has also been continuously cornering the Modi government on the foreign policy front. Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party have been targeting the BJP government on the issue of China and Bangladesh. Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly claimed that China is occupying Indian land in Arunachal Pradesh.
The opposition is also leaving no stone unturned in raising direct questions about the central government’s projects. Recently, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh have also raised questions about the government’s Great Nicobar Project.
The opposition has also been consistently embarrassing the central government over rising petrol and diesel prices in the country. These issues concern the common man and are linked to inflation, making them appealing to the public.
The central government’s promotion of ethanol-blended petrol, such as E-20, has led to numerous claims of engine damage and reduced mileage, forcing the government to repeatedly issue clarifications. The opposition is also making this an issue.
Reacting to the recent resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that this was the result of the struggle and sacrifice of all the young people who spoke out. Owaisi said, “The change that has taken place today sends a message that if the Modi government thinks it can do anything it wants, whether it can demolish homes with bulldozers or suppress people, this movement has shown them that dictatorship will no longer work.” Clearly, Owaisi is also seeking to embarrass the Modi government with his political maneuvers.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), another party within the India Bloc, has approached the Supreme Court seeking the registration of FIRs and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation into cases of alleged police excesses during the student protests that began across the country on July 20th in protest against the NEET paper leak.
The petition was mentioned before a bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant on Monday. This means preparations are underway to corner the NDA government, from Parliament to the streets, and even the judiciary.
Following Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, Chief Spokesperson of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), Saurav Das, stated that this is just a trailer; the full picture is yet to come. He said, “Now the CJP will go across the country, listen to the youth, formulate better policies for them, and continue to demand accountability at every level.” Now, Rahul Gandhi is also demanding accountability from the government, especially from Home Minister Amit Shah. He is asking who gave the orders to kill the students.
Mamata Banerjee is not far behind. Mamata Banerjee recently targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that when a group of CJP protesters marched near the Parliament complex a day earlier, the Prime Minister “turned his car around and left.” She said, “You saw what happened in Delhi yesterday: the atrocities against the students.” She further said, “I learned from Parliament that the PM turned his car around and left.” However, his claim did not turn out to be true.
