The case of late Disha Salian’s death in Mumbai is once again in the news. Disha’s father Satish Salian recorded his statement before the CBI on Friday. He said that he has informed the authorities about all the facts related to the case and the names of the people who have come before him. After recording the statement, now all eyes are on the investigating agency for further action in the case.
Satish Salian said that in his statement he has mentioned the names of many people including Aditya Thackeray, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea and Sushant Singh Rajput’s bodyguard. He said that the officials recorded his views in writing and told him that action would be initiated in a few days.
After recording the statement, Satish Salian said that he has told the officials only the facts which are in front of him. When asked why he was not heard for so long and now the hearing in the case is moving forward, he said that truth never defeats. He said that wherever there is truth, God stands there. Satish Salian expressed hope that his daughter will get justice.
In the case of Disha Salian’s death, the Bombay High Court had last week directed to register an FIR and conduct a fresh CBI investigation into the case. The court had also talked about the appointment of a senior CBI officer to monitor the investigation.
CBI had earlier contacted Malvani police to obtain all the documents related to Disha Salian’s death. On Friday, the statement of Satish Salian was recorded under the supervision of DSP Puran Kumar. However, CBI has not yet officially commented on this development.
Satish Salian’s lawyer Nilesh Ojha claimed that the cases of Disha Salian and actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death are linked. He said that according to the order of the High Court, it is necessary to first record the statement of Satish Salian and register an FIR.
After this, action will be taken against the accused on the basis of evidence emerging in the investigation. Ojha claimed that he has enough evidence related to the investigation, but said that some things cannot be made public right now as it may affect the investigation.
Nilesh Ojha claimed that Disha Salian had digital evidence related to Aditya Thackeray and people associated with him, which she passed on to Sushant Singh Rajput. The lawyer further claimed that this information had also reached Rhea Chakraborty and that is why Disha allegedly felt threatened.
Nilesh Ojha also made serious allegations like gangrape, murder and cover-up regarding Disha’s death. However, these allegations are claims made by the lawyer and can be confirmed only after the conclusion of the investigation.
Disha Salian was found dead on 8 June 2020 in a housing society in Malad, Mumbai. Initial investigation by Mumbai Police had declared his death a suicide and no foul play or criminal activity was found.
However, Disha’s father approached the Bombay High Court, terming the circumstances of the death as suspicious and demanding investigation of the case as murder. Now, following the instructions of the High Court, CBI is investigating the case afresh.
The court had also made it clear in its order that no person should be named as an accused in the FIR. If sufficient material comes to light against anyone during the investigation, then only further legal action will be taken against him.
