After six years, a new twist has emerged in the Disha Salian case. According to this new twist, the Bombay High Court has ordered the case involving Disha Salian, in which the Mumbai Police had dismissed their duties by declaring her death a suicide, to be handed over to the CBI, stating that the Mumbai Police’s investigation into the Disha Salian case raised more suspicious questions than they had previously investigated.
After the Bombay High Court ordered a CBI investigation into the Disha Salian case and directed the registration of an FIR, people are now wondering: will this decision reopen the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in which the CBI submitted a closure report, declaring his death a suicide?
On a general basis, the Bombay High Court’s decision to register an FIR in the Disha Salian case and hand over the case to the CBI does not appear to automatically legally close the Sushant Singh Rajput case, as the CBI has already filed a closure report in that case. However, the court’s final decision on that report is still pending.
In this situation, if concrete and new evidence is discovered during the new CBI investigation into Disha Salian that directly links the two incidents (Disha and Sushant’s deaths) to a larger conspiracy, a request for further investigation in Sushant’s case to be expedited through legal proceedings or petitions can be made to the court. However, this would require a new order from the court or competent authority.
Following the Bombay High Court’s current verdict in the Disha Salian case, Nilesh Ojha, the lawyer representing Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, appeared on the Q-Vive channel as a panelist alongside former Uttar Pradesh DGP Vikramjit Singh and former IPS officer Uday Sahay, emphasizing that the Bombay High Court’s current order in Disha Salian’s case, which transferred the case to the CBI, does not necessarily open the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s murder. More importantly, the Bombay High Court’s current decision in Disha Salian’s case automatically opens the case. Citing paragraph 12 of the Bombay High Court’s current judgment, he explained that the High Court clearly states that Disha Salian’s case is also linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s murder. Therefore, due to the interconnected nature of the case, the High Court will need to investigate the case as well during the hearing. Nilesh Ojha said that in the court’s decision in this case, it has also been pointed out that Disha Salian was murdered and when this information reached Sushant Singh Rajput through Rhea Chakraborty, then Sushant Singh was murdered so that there were no accomplices left in the murder of Disha Salian.
