
PM Narendra Modi Sweden Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sweden on Sunday evening on the third leg of his five-nation tour. Swedish Gripen fighter jets escorted Prime Minister Modi’s plane as it entered Swedish airspace after visiting the Netherlands. Upon arrival at Gothenburg Airport, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson personally warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi.
During his two-day visit to Sweden, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with his Swedish counterpart Ulf Kristersson. The two leaders will review all key aspects of India-Sweden relations. Discussions will also be held on trade, green transition, artificial intelligence, new technologies, startups, robust supply chains, defense, space, climate change, and strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Prime Minister Modi and the Swedish Prime Minister will also jointly address the European Round Table for Industry. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also be present at the event. This forum is considered the premier business platform for major European industry groups.
Before departing for Sweden, Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten personally arrived at Amsterdam Airport to see Prime Minister Modi off. During his two-day visit to the Netherlands, Prime Minister Modi held bilateral talks with his Dutch counterpart. Seventeen agreements were signed to enhance cooperation between the two countries in defense, critical minerals, and other key sectors. Both leaders also expressed concern about the situation in West Asia and its impact on global energy supplies and trade networks.
