An NDA government with a massive majority is in power in Bihar. However, ever since Nitish Kumar stepped down as Chief Minister, opposition parties have been claiming that the JDU will merge with the BJP. Indeed, Union Minister Piyush Goyal held a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Delhi on Tuesday. JDU leader and Union Minister Lallan Singh was also present. Now, after the photo surfaced, political debate has begun. RJD and Congress have reacted to it.
RJD’s national spokesperson Priyanka Bharti, referring to the photo from the press conference, wrote on Instagram, “JDU can announce its merger with the BJP at any time! While selling socialism, they have become salesmen in a communal shop!”
Meanwhile, Bihar Congress spokesperson Dr. Snehashish Vardhan said that the BJP has also reinstated sleeper cells within its alliance partners, which occasionally act as puppets. When Nitish Kumar was sidelined as Chief Minister, core and dedicated JDU workers openly exposed their party’s sleeper cells, but with the BJP’s blessings, they remain within the JDU. The Janata Dal (United) could split from the United at any time.
Snehashish said that the BJP has a long history of engulfing its own allies in every state, and it would not be surprising if it did the same to the JDU. The BJP has also established sleeper cells within Upendra Kushwaha’s party, and this was evident in the MLC elections. The BJP never wants regional parties to flourish, and regional parties and their workers should understand this in time.
