The recent assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam have demonstrated the BJP’s unilateral political dominance in North India, where the opposition is finding it difficult to stand up to it.
Axis My India founder Pradeep Gupta says that the BJP’s current dominance in Indian politics began in 2014 and will continue for at least 20 years. He cited the Congress party’s earlier dominance of the country’s politics.
He said that the Congress initially ruled continuously until 1977. After that, it began facing difficulties. In those days, we used to talk about the longevity of a political generation of about 20 years. That 20-year cycle will still persist.
According to him, the future of the BJP-led NDA and the opposition will depend on the performance of the Modi government. If the BJP government continues to perform as expected, it will continue to win elections and the opposition will continue to lose. He said about the Congress party that it will take time to overcome the burden of perceptions associated with its past rule.
