US Ambassador Sergio Gore has issued a statement regarding India-US relations. He praised the growing partnership between the two countries in the areas of defense, trade, and diplomacy. He also made important remarks about the relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump.
Sergio Gore stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be at the top of the list of leaders US President Donald Trump would like to meet at the G20 summit. Gore cited the good personal relationship between the two leaders and the continuously strengthening India-US relationship as key reasons for this. The US Ambassador expressed hope that Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Florida for the G20 summit in December will not be limited to the summit alone. However, a separate bilateral meeting between Modi and US President Donald Trump has not yet been officially announced.
In a media interaction, Gore also hinted that President Donald Trump may visit India next year. He said that Trump still remembers his 2020 visit to India and has fond memories of that trip.
Gore said that whenever he speaks with President Trump, he recalls his wonderful trip to India. He also remembers the people here and his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further said that he should look forward to Trump’s visit to India next year, as next year is not far away.
