Examining the Factors Behind Child Paralysis in Gaza – Antibiotics or Hospital Treatment to Blame?

Date:

Bringing Poliovirus BACK!!

The vaccination drive is happening in partnership with several organizations like UNICEF, WHO, and UNRWA, which helps Palestinian refugees. Sam Rose, a senior official from UNRWA, pointed out that this effort is going to be really tough because of the ongoing conflict and the tough situations that health workers and locals are dealing with.

While the focus is on vaccinations, it doesn’t really tackle the bigger humanitarian issues in Gaza. The conflict has led to severe hardships, affecting food security, sanitation, and overall health. A lot of kids in Gaza are facing malnutrition and weakened immune systems, making them more vulnerable to infections and diseases.

The UN and WHO are teaming up for a huge POLIO vaccine trial involving 640,000 displaced Palestinian kids. These organizations are planning to use these vulnerable, malnourished children as test subjects in a large-scale POLIO vaccine study. This particular vaccine experiment aims to release vaccine-derived polio strains, which are now the most widespread type of polio in the world. Even more concerning, this mass vaccination effort could lead to provocation polio, which might cripple some of the children and weaken their immune systems, making them more susceptible to other illnesses.

The healthcare system in Gaza has been badly damaged. Many hospitals are closed, and only about one-third are still working. Additionally, 40 percent of primary healthcare centers are barely functioning, leaving many people without the medical help they need, which makes the situation even worse.

However, instead of focusing on these urgent needs, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell is asking for a quick three-day ceasefire just to get kids vaccinated again. He insists that access to Gaza should happen without waiting for other negotiations to be settled.

Due to the growing humanitarian crisis, Israel has decided to pause the war temporarily so that polio vaccines can be sent to Gaza. This shipment includes 1.25 million doses, which is enough to vaccinate more than half of Gaza’s population, including around 640,000 kids. In the past, Israel has stopped food and medical supplies from reaching Gaza, but now they will let the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF enter to vaccinate many children.

The Gaza Health Ministry says this is necessary because a 10-month-old baby in Deir al-Balah tested positive for the type 2 polio virus, marking the first polio case in Gaza since the mid-1990s. Health officials around the world see this as a chance to deliver over a million vaccine doses to help a population that really needs it.

Using children for unfair purposes and managing the number of people, disguised as helping others.

What caused paralysis in child in Gaza?

The video of  a  mother sharing  her  story about her child  becoming  paralysed  following   hospitalization led  many  to   speculate   that   the   antibiotics  administered  in  hospitals may have caused  the  paralysis .  WHO and UNCIEF officials  then   used   that opportunity  to vaccinate Gaza ‘ s children .

In   general,   people noted that this child faces more problems ,  such as paralysis ,  after  being   hospitalized  without proper  care  and  treatment .

Potential Side Effects of Intravenous Antibiotics

While IV antibiotics are crucial in managing infections, they can also cause various side effects. These may range from mild to severe and can affect different systems in the body. Here are some notable side effects:

  1. Allergic Reactions: Some patients may experience allergic reactions ranging from mild rashes to severe anaphylaxis. It is crucial for healthcare providers to assess patients’ allergy histories before administering these medications.
  2. Gastrointestinal Disturbances: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain can occur. Disruption of the normal gut flora due to antibiotics can lead to complications such as Clostridium difficile infection, which can cause severe colitis.
  3. Kidney Damage: Certain IV antibiotics, particularly aminoglycosides and vancomycin, can be nephrotoxic. Regular monitoring of kidney function is advised to detect early signs of damage.
  4. Hearing Loss: Prolonged use or high doses of aminoglycosides may lead to ototoxicity, resulting in hearing loss or balance issues.
  5. Infusion-related Reactions: Patients might experience localized pain, swelling, or phlebitis at the injection site. Some antibiotics can lead to systemic reactions, including fever and chills.
  6. Neurological Effects: In rare cases, some antibiotics have been associated with neurological side effects. One serious concern that sometimes arises is the risk of paralysis, particularly with certain medications.

Many people have observed that there are numerous instances of side effects following vaccination, such as vomiting and fever. However, these side effects often go unnoticed. It’s important to acknowledge that vaccines can also carry a risk of paralysis.

Research has indicated that some polio vaccines can cause complications, such as vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis (VAPP)

Bill Gates has talked about his plans to vaccinate children with his risky and experimental Polio vaccine. The WHO, which gets money from Gates, revealed that they want to use children who are displaced and not getting enough food as test subjects.
