(24-26 May, 2026)
As part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ citizen-centric initiative “Passport Seva – Passport at Your Doorstep,” the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Patna will organize a 3-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Collectorate Campus, Madhepura, from 24th to 26th May, 2026.
- Since Madhepura shares a Lok Sabha constituency jurisdiction with an existing passport service centre under the present constituency-based framework, the district does not presently have a dedicated passport office. In view of this, the Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp is being organized to facilitate citizens of Madhepura and nearby areas by bringing passport-related services closer to their doorstep.
- The initiative aims to provide convenient access to passport-related services and streamline the application process for citizens. The camp will be jointly inaugurated on 24th May, 2026 by Shri Abhishek Ranjan, IAS, District Magistrate, Madhepura, and Smt. Swadha Rizvi, Indian Foreign Service, Regional Passport Officer, Patna.
- Following the successful organization of the Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp in Madhepura from 28th to 30th January, 2026, during which 165 passport applications were processed, another camp is being organized in the district in view of the positive response received from citizens. Notably, this marks the first time that two passport camps have been organized in the same district, underscoring the continued commitment towards public service delivery and improving access to passport-related services for the public.
- The 3-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp has been planned to accommodate a total of 165 appointments, with 55 appointments scheduled each day. During the camp, passport applications will be processed at the venue itself, providing applicants with convenient access to passport services closer to their place of residence. Citizens interested in availing these services may book their appointments through the Passport Seva Portal by selecting the Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp location at Madhepura.
- This will be the 18th Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp organized by the Regional Passport Office, Patna since April 2024. Through similar camps conducted across various districts and institutions in Bihar, more than 2300 passport applications have been processed so far, reflecting the Ministry’s continued commitment towards improving accessibility of passport services across the State.
- Passport service infrastructure in Bihar has been expanded in line with the Parliamentary constituency-based outreach framework, with passport facilities now available across all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies of the State. At present, the network comprises 38 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) and 2 Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) functioning under the Headquarters of RPO, Patna. The most recent addition to this network was the inauguration of the Ramnagar POPSK in West Champaran.
