Lord Ram and Goddess Sita used to drink every afternoon; Rationalist KS Bhagwan sparks controversy

Mandya (Karnataka): KS Bhagwan, a writer and popular rationalist from Karnataka, has made an objectionable remark against Lord Rama and Sita Devi. KS Bhagwan’s statement that Lord Rama and Goddess Sita used to drink every afternoon.

KS Bhagavan said that Valmiki had said this in the Ramayana and that it was not his personal opinion. The controversial statement was made while speaking at a public event in Mandya.

Bhagavan also tried to justify his claim by saying that Lord Rama’s main activity in the afternoon was to sit and drink wine with Sita.

This is not the first time KS Bhagavan has insulted Lord Rama. In the book ‘Rama Mandira Yake Beda’, the writer had made objectionable remarks against Lord Rama.

Some Hindu organizations widely protested against this remark. The woman lawyer also filed a case in the Bengaluru court against repeatedly questioning the existence of Lord Rama.
