Bihar engineering college ban Saraswati Puja, legal action also warned

Date:

Patna: The authorities of Engineering College in Madhepura, Bihar have banned Saraswati Puja which was supposed to be held on the 26th of this month. But the order of the college principal said that Puja cannot be performed. As soon as it came to know that the students decided to perform the pooja, they issued a written order and banned it.

According to the order issued by the principal, legal action will be taken as per the law if anyone performs Saraswati Puja without permission. According to the students, they applied to Principal Arvind Kumar Amar to organize Saraswati Puja, but the principal did not give permission to set up the Saraswati idol or perform the Puja.

The students had sought permission many times to perform Saraswati Puja in the college, but the principal agreed to allow worship by putting up a big photo in all three hostels.

However, later, when the students refused to post their photos, the students came out on a strike. It is likely that the dispute with those around them will increase in connection with worshipping in a public place. The college authorities claim that permission will not be given keeping this in mind.

Meanwhile, Samastipur District Magistrate Yogesh Singh and SP Vinay Tiwari said that if a DJ plays in colleges during Saraswati Puja, an FIR will be registered against the sound system owner along with the organizers and sent to jail. The district administration has directed all police chiefs to monitor pooja pandals, all sensitive places, and idol immersion sites.
