The streets of Delhi may soon witness protests against the Chief Election Commissioner, similar to the exam leak protests. Cockroach Janata Party chief Abhijeet Deepak is expected to lead this protest. Just as the resignation of then-Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was demanded over the exam leak issue, the protest against the Election Commission will similarly demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
CJP founder Abhijeet Deepak has issued an ultimatum, stating that if Gyanesh Kumar does not resign within 48 hours, the Cockroach Janata Party will launch a protest, and this protest will not end until Gyanesh Kumar resigns.
The CJP demands that Gyanesh Kumar resign within 48 hours. Criminal proceedings should be initiated against him. He must answer who gave him the order to steal votes. In addition, the CJP also demands that all upcoming elections be postponed. The SIR should be immediately banned. The voter list should be restored to its January 2025 status. An independent inquiry commission, trusted by the public, should be established to investigate all actions related to the SIR. The Supreme Court should immediately order the seizure of SIR files and records and present them in court.
The 2023 law governing ECI appointments should be immediately repealed. A new law, with the active participation of civil society, should be enacted, providing an independent selection process that will win public trust.
CJP leader Abhijit Dipke stated that if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign within 48 hours, they will launch a nationwide movement and end it only when all their demands are met.
This entire controversy began after an Indian Express report claimed that there were differences within the Election Commission between Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, regarding the SIR and other decisions. The report claimed that Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had filed 14 written objections to various EC decisions and procedures over the past 10 months.
