Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will hold a “National Townhall Against E20” event in New Delhi on Saturday, August 1, 2026, to protest the central government’s ethanol-blended petrol policy.

This event will be held at the Constitution Club of India in Delhi. The event will begin at 12:00 noon, but people from Delhi and surrounding areas have been asked to arrive by 11:30 am. It is noteworthy that the venue of Arvind Kejriwal’s event, the Constitutional Club of India, is just 100 to 150 meters from the Parliament House, where the monsoon session of Parliament is currently underway. People outside Delhi can also join the event online.

Arvind Kejriwal claims that the use of E20 petrol is damaging vehicle engines and reducing vehicle mileage. In this town hall, he will discuss with affected citizens, experts, and affected vehicle owners. Following this event, Arvind Kejriwal will visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence next week to deliver over 200,000 petitions signed by the public directly to him.

In preparation for this event, Kejriwal says he has collected information from 29 vehicle manufacturers regarding the adverse effects of E20 petrol on vehicle engines and fuel efficiency. However, Kejriwal is refusing to disclose the manufacturer’s data on the adverse effects of E20 petrol on vehicle engines and fuel efficiency. He claims that manufacturers fear that making this information public could lead to government action or customers seeking compensation.

Overall, Arvind Kejriwal hopes to regain his lost political traction with this event on Saturday, but he is also exercising caution to ensure that his efforts do not backfire.
