ZERO studies are showing the safety of 5G: The telecom industry hasn’t researched 5G’s health effects, so why consider a 6G plan?

The Lack of 5G Safety Studies and the Push for 6G Technology

The telecom sector has not conducted any studies on the health effects of 5G technology. India began its 5G technology trials in 2020, leading to significant implications for public health and the environment. This fifth-generation wireless network boasts speeds that are up to 50 times faster than the previous 4G technology.

The Biggest Reality of 6G Exposed, Agenda by 2030

Adverse health effects of 5G mobile networking technology under real-life conditions

Wireless communications have been expanding globally at an exponential rate. The latest imbedded version of mobile networking technology is called 4G (fourth generation), and the next version (called 5G- fifth generation) is in the early implementation stage. Neither 4G nor 5G have been tested for safety in credible real-life scenarios. Alarmingly, many of the studies conducted in more benign environ- ments show harmful effects from this radiation. The present article overviews the medical and biological studies that have been performed to date relative to effects from wireless radiation, and shows why these studies are deficient relative to safety. However, even in the absence of the missing real-life components such as toxic chemicals and biotoxins (which tend to exacerbate the adverse effects of the wireless radiation), the literature shows there is much valid reason for concern about po- tential adverse health effects from both 4G and 5G technology. The studies on wireless radiation health effects reported in the literature should be viewed as extremely conservative, substantially under- estimating the adverse impacts of this new technology.

An expert cancer researcher and advisor to the World Health Organization International Agency for Research on Cancer (WHO/IARC) has issued his scientific opinion that radio-frequency (RF) radiation from any source – such as the signals emitted by cell phones, other wireless and cordless and sensor devices, and wireless networks – fully meets criteria to be classified as a “Group 1 carcinogenic to humans” agent, based on scientific evidence associating RF exposure to cancer development and cancer promotion.

Dr. Anthony Miller, a senior advisor at the WHO IARC, has thoroughly examined the most credible scientific evidence and has now determined that radiation from cell phones and wireless devices is indeed a carcinogen. This statement comes from a lecture he delivered on July 31, 2017, during a scientific symposium organized by Environmental Health Trust.

Dr. Anthony Miller, a senior advisor at the WHO IARC, has thoroughly examined the most credible scientific evidence and has now determined that radiation from cell phones and wireless devices is indeed a carcinogen.

“The evidence indicating wireless is carcinogenic has increased and can no longer be ignored,” stated Dr. Anthony B. Miller at a July 31, 2017, lecture in Jackson Hole, Wyoming sponsored by the Environmental Health Trust where international experts presented the best available science on “cell phone and wireless radiation”.

In 2011, WHO/IARC classified RF radiation from any source as a “Group 2B possibly carcinogenic to human” agent.   Miller believes the evidence published since 2011 fulfills the requirements to re-classify RF radiation as a “Group 1 carcinogenic to humans” agent.

Numerous research studies indicate that 5G millimeter wavelengths have the potential to inflict harm on biological tissues. A thorough scientific analysis conducted by Dr. Martin L. Pall, Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Basic Medical Sciences at Washington State University, outlines a range of cumulative and irreversible injuries linked to 5G radiation. Dr. Pall references peer-reviewed studies published in reputable medical journals to emphasize the “extremely well-documented effects” associated with non-thermal exposure to microwave frequency electromagnetic fields (EMFs). He points out that these effects can significantly impact the endocrine, nervous, and reproductive systems.

Adverse effects encompass DNA breakage and oxidation, which may result in mutations that can trigger cancer. Additionally, there is a concerning decline in male fertility and reduced levels of key hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Moreover, individuals may experience a range of neurological and neuropsychiatric issues, including sleep disturbances, fatigue, headaches, depression, cognitive impairments, and dizziness. The presence of oxidative stress, known to play a role in various diseases, along with the excessive production of intracellular calcium, has also been observed.

The Congresswoman criticized the FCC for its weakness in handling the telecommunications sector

The FCC has backed down in front of the telecommunications industry. However, some politicians are standing their ground when it comes to 5G technology. During a Senate hearing in February, Senator Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut pressed telecommunications leaders about the absence of safety studies supported by the industry. When one CEO admitted that no such studies existed, the senator’s anger was obvious.

“So, we are flying blind on health and safety,” he fumed.

There are ZERO studies showing safety of 5G : Senate Hearing – 7th Feb 2019

Congresswomen Anna Eshoo and Jackie Speier have put forth HR 530, a crucial bill aimed at halting the FCC’s preemption of cell tower regulations. This controversial tactic forces municipalities to allow small cell installations throughout their communities, often against local wishes. Eshoo did not hold back in her criticism, stating that the FCC has “ignored the reasonable concerns of communities nationwide, yielded to corporate pressures, and neglected the public’s best interests.”

In a parallel effort, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D., CA.) has introduced a companion bill to HR 530, which seeks to empower state and local governments to reclaim authority over telecommunications infrastructure. The movement had gained momentum, with scientists joining the chorus of voices advocating for a pause on 5G deployment, highlighting the growing international concern surrounding this issue.

In a 2018 report, the European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Health, Environmental and Emerging Risks highlighted the potential for 5G electromagnetic radiation to produce unforeseen biological effects. Despite this, government agencies continue to assert that 5G technology is “safe.” Yet, it’s important to remember that the federal government has previously deemed various hazardous substances as “safe,” including notorious toxins like nicotine, thalidomide, asbestos, Agent Orange, and lead paint.

Can we genuinely rely on government health agencies to safeguard our well-being, particularly when they seem overly enthusiastic about 5G technology?

Experts predict that 6G will be implemented globally by the end of 2024, a notion that deeply concerns Dr. Paul Heroux. He straightforwardly describes the idea of launching 5G without thorough safety evaluations as “utterly insane,” deeming it “one of the most foolish ideas ever conceived in history.” Yet, is anyone paying attention?

Paul Heroux, a professor specializing in toxicology and the health impacts of electromagnetism at the Department of Surgery, McGill University Health Centre in Canada, shares his insights with Down To Earth on the potential health risks associated with the widespread adoption of 5G technology.

Q: What are the primary health impacts of using 5G mobile network and is there enough scientific evidence to prove that these impacts will take place?

All artificial electromagnetic radiation is a problem because biological systems are not adapted to it. Since exposure has increased progressively and started at a time when disease detection was primitive, those impacts went largely unnoticed. The health evidence has been there, but ignored for decades. 5G will promote cell phone use and therefore human exposures to phones and base stations. The higher frequencies will concentrate the radiation in a smaller portion of the human body because of smaller penetration depth. These frequencies also need more intensity to allow penetration through obstacles. The exposures will be more concentrated over time because of the beam-forming (5-10°) that is specific to 5G. On the specific issue of cancer, all major animal studies, including Chou (1992), Repacholi (1997) and NTP-Ramzzini (2019) confirm carcinogenic action of electromagnetic radiation (EMR).

Q: Countries like UK, US and even India are pushing for faster adoption of 5G? Have the concerns around health impacts been resolved?

Industry has performed no health studies on 5G. They do not need to as they have a stranglehold on legislation that allows them to arbitrarily place base stations where they went on streets close to homes and people have no recourse whatsoever. Dominique Bellepomme, an oncologist in Paris, calls this a “crime against humanity”. As usual, to push adoption of the next update, industry represents that 5G is a revolution, while in fact it is only an expansion of wireless. Most of the applications presented to promote it are “vapourware”, things that either already exist or will never see implementation. Self-driving cars can be designed without 5G. The internet of things is an invasion to privacy primarily optimised for spying and should be framed with restrictions that protect private information and the right not to be irradiated by EMR.

Q: In a completely 5G-connected world how severe could these impacts be?

There would be impacts on cancer rates, on neurological diseases, including electrical hypersensitivity (EHS), fertility and diabetes. Children are particularly vulnerable.

Q: What is the current stand of the European Union and other global bodies about the health consequences of 5G?

The International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France, warned in 2002 and 2011 about the connection between EMR and cancer. Many other international and public bodies are under the direct influence of industries. Since this question involves interdisciplinary science, it has been possible for industry specialists to infiltrate many organisations, who also get generous donations from large tech corporations. The convenience of wireless has created a huge financial base and a wide public audience that has been driven to believe by publicity and simplistic science that there are no health implications to EMR.

Q: Can the health impacts be reduced without affecting implementation of 5G?

It is perfectly possible to design the fastest telecommunication systems while minimising health impacts. First, give the highest priority to deployment of optical fibre networks to home and businesses, which can, ultimately, be two crore times faster than 5G. Second, capitalise on wired connections, which, like cable, can bring speeds of 10 gb/second to homes. Third, recognise cell phones for what they are: a radiating device. Redesign them to minimise user exposures, which can result in reduction by factors of 100. And, use them sparingly, rather than letting them become a substitute to workstations, and the home of eye candy.

Prof. Sultan Ayoub Meo, a professor at KSU’s College of Medicine, has for the first time proved that the radiation from towers also causes diabetes mellitus.

Sultan, whose research findings on radiation from mobile phone base station towers (MPBST) has been published in the “International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health”, a reputable Swiss science journal, said that “this is the first study added in the global science literature about radiation and its link with type 2 diabetes mellitus.”
The study is based on the effects of Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Filed Radiation (RF-EMFR) generated by MPBSTs on hemoglobin.

Mobile phone companies, Sultan said, installed towers in residential and commercial areas including on/near school buildings, which has stirred up widespread public concern about the hazards of RF-EMF radiation.

What is a 5G, 6G, and 7G Network?

Before we list the countries that already boat a 7G network connection, let’s define what we are talking about.

What is 5G

Greater speed, more bandwidth, and better connectivity are things we will never get tired of improving as our requirements for better data transfer scale exponentially. This faster and better internet came in the form of 5G. The 4G Network that many in the world are used to and take for granted has only been improved upon by the 5G Network, however, 5G offers features that 4G does not. With the help of this new network, we can link everyone and everything. Every device is linked to humans and to each other, making IoT innovations, cloud computing, automated vehicles, and much more.

What is 6G

Fifth-generation cellular technology is replaced by sixth-generation wireless or 6G. The bandwidth and latency of 6G networks will be significantly higher than those of 5G networks due to their ability to operate at higher frequencies. The main purpose of 6G internet is to provide communications with one-microsecond latency. This is 1,000 times quicker than one-millisecond throughput, or 1/1000th of the latency.

What is 7G

The inevitable advanced cellular technology that will be the successor for 5G and 6G, 7G will be able to satisfy the requirements of extremely high bandwidth, almost zero latency, and universal integration.

A few nations are “working on” next-generation networks; 7G is not yet clearly defined, but it will undoubtedly improve upon and address shortcomings in 5G, followed by 6G, which will employ satellites to connect the current 5G networks (very simplified example)

Although it’s not anticipated until the very late 2030s at the earliest, 7G promises to deliver space roaming at extremely high data rates utilizing satellites that are already in operation, such as those for global navigation, photography, etc.

Final Thought: It is concerning to consider that if the major telecommunications companies have not conducted thorough research on the impacts of 5G on human health and the environment, it raises questions about the trustworthiness of their claims regarding the safety of 6G technology.
