Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary expanded his cabinet on Thursday. Special attention was paid to social and regional balance. The new ministers were sworn in at a grand ceremony held at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan. While this new team reposes trust in experienced leaders, several new faces have also been given opportunities to work.
The sons of three former Chief Ministers of Bihar have been included in this cabinet expansion. Nishant Kumar, son of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has been appointed a minister for the first time. Santosh Kumar Suman, son of former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, has also been appointed a minister. Besides them, Nitish Mishra, son of former Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, was also sworn in as a minister. Nitish Mishra has previously held important portfolios in the Bihar government.

The swearing-in ceremony was a grand affair, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. BJP President Nitin Naveen, Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were also seen on the stage. The presence of so many prominent NDA leaders made this event historic. This is the first time such a large-scale swearing-in ceremony has been held at Gandhi Maidan.
Last month, after Nitish Kumar resigned from the Rajya Sabha and resigned from the Rajya Sabha, the first BJP-led government was formed in Bihar. Samrat Chaudhary became the Chief Minister, with Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary taking over as Deputy Chief Ministers.
The current NDA alliance includes the BJP and JDU, along with Chirag Paswan’s LJP (R), Manjhi’s HAM, and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha. To demonstrate this unity, all allies have been given appropriate positions in the cabinet.
