Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is pleased to announce the inauguration of Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) in Ram Nagar functional under Regional Passport Office, Patna. This initiative would render passport services extremely accessible for residents of the far-flung Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha constituency and surrounding regions.
2. The POPSK, 454th in India and 38th in Bihar, located in the Sub Post Office in Ram Nagar, aims to provide convenient, efficient, and transparent passport services. Citizens can apply for fresh passports, renew existing ones, and avail police clearance certificate (PCC) services. 45 passport and 5 PCC appointment slots will be available in this POPSK, and applicants can avail of these services online on MEA’s website www.passportindia.gov.in. Shri Sunil Kumar, Hon’ble MP of Valmiki Nagar, along with Smt. Sripriya Ranganathan (IFS), Secretary (CPV & OIA), MEA, Government of India, inaugurated the POPSK in the presence of Sh. Vinay Bihari, MLA Lauriya, Sh. Ram Singh, MLA Bagaha, Sh. Nand Kishor Ram, MLA Ram Nagar, Post Master General North Region, Shri Pawan Kumar Singh (IPoS); Regional Passport Officer, Patna Smt. Swadha Rizvi (IFS); DIG Champaran Range Sh. Harkishor Rai; OSD in MEA PSP Colonel Ritesh Kumar; Director in Passport Seva Project Division in MEA Dr. Arjun Deore (IFS); DDC West Champaran Kajale Vaibhav Nitin; officials of RPO Patna and India Post; Technical Partner of MEA Tata Consultancy Services Project Head and other dignitaries.
3. The POPSK initiative is a collaboration between the Ministry of External Affairs and the Department of Posts which aims to bring passport services closer to citizens. With 454 POPSKs and 93 Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) under 37 Passport Offices, India, now, has the network of 547 passport service centers nationwide.

With the opening of POPSK Ram Nagar in Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha Constituency, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, has demonstrated its commitment to citizen-centric governance, by fulfilling the mandate of opening one passport office in every parliamentary constituency in Bihar. In the state of Bihar, with POPSK Ram Nagar, the tally of passport centers now stands at 40, bringing passport services closer to the people of Bihar in all 40 constituencies. The wide-ranging network of passport centers across the length and breadth of Bihar will significantly benefit the people of the state, particularly those residing in remote areas, and thereby exemplifying the true meaning of last mile connectivity.
