Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has become more of a technical Chief Minister these days than a political Chief Minister. You might be wondering, the post of Chief Minister is a political one, and Devendra Fadnavis is a member of the BJP, a nationally recognized political party. He won the election, secured a majority, and then became Chief Minister. So how did he become a technical Chief Minister? According to political science, the post of Chief Minister is still political, not technical. In that context, Devendra Fadnavis is still a political Chief Minister. However, recently, when the Bombay High Court transferred the investigation of the Disha Salian case from the Mumbai Police to the CBI, he reacted by calling it a technical matter. Moreover, not only his son Aditya Thackeray, but Uddhav Thackeray himself is also a named accused in the Disha Salian case by the CBI. If the CBI proves this allegation to be true, then this father-son duo, Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray, will not only face jail time but could also face life imprisonment and even death sentences.
Now, if we talk about Devendra Fadnavis’s own situation, it’s not very good. There’s often talk in the corridors of power that Devendra Fadnavis’s position as Chief Minister could be snatched away from him at any time and handed over to Eknath Shinde, just as the Disha Salian case was taken away from the Mumbai Police and handed over to the CBI.
Therefore, these people now feel that if they want to improve their situation, they will have to come up with some new technique. Uddhav Thackeray is neither the Chief Minister of Maharashtra nor a partner in the central government. Therefore, if they want to pressure the CBI to work in their favor in the Disha Salian case, they will have to seek refuge with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Devendra Fadnavis himself is the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and a prominent leader of the BJP, the dominant party in the central NDA government. He can pressure the Central Home Minister or Prime Minister to pressure the CBI to protect Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray in the Disha Salian case.
Devendra Fadnavis also needed the support of Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray to strengthen his position to prevent Eknath Shinde from snatching the Chief Minister’s post from Devendra Fadnavis.
So, when everyone had their own desires, Devendra Fadnavis employed his own tactics. Under the pretext of sharing a cultural platform, they shared a platform and, in a secret room, also held secret political discussions to improve their own positions. However, their closed-door discussions were not made public, and then, on stage, they began to take potshots at each other.
In this way, technical Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has used his technique, but for how long this technique will be successful in saving Devendra Fadnavis from Eknath Shinde and keeping him as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and for how long will it be able to put pressure on the CBI to save Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray, this will be known only in the coming days, but at present one thing is visible that as per the decision of the Bombay High Court, the Disha Salian case has been handed over from Mumbai Police to the CBI and in which Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray etc. have been made named accused, it has been 58 days since that case came into the hands of the CBI, but till now the CBI has not even conducted a custodial inquiry from Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, Paramveer Singh or any other named accused in this case.
