Strengthening “Ease of Living” by Providing Better Facilities to the People in the State’s Urban Bodies is the Government’s Priority: Nitish Mishra

Mr. Nitish Mishra, Honorable Minister of the Urban Development and Housing Department of the Government of Bihar, formally assumed charge today at his office in the Urban Development and Housing Department located in Vikas Bhawan. On this occasion, the Principal Secretary of the Department, Mr. Vinay Kumar, welcomed him and provided detailed information about the department’s plans and activities.
After assuming charge, the Honorable Minister, while receiving information about the department’s various schemes, stated that providing better infrastructure to the people in the state’s urban bodies is the government’s top priority. He stated that Bihar’s urban areas have expanded rapidly in recent years, and today the state’s urbanization has reached approximately 17 percent. In these circumstances, it is essential to advance urban development with a systematic and visionary approach.
Mr. Nitish Mishra stated that any city is a reflection of the state’s good governance and development. Anyone visiting Bihar first visualizes Patna and other cities as a vision of the state’s development. Our effort will be to provide all 264 municipal bodies in the state with the necessary support and handholding to enable them to perform better at the local level. The department will provide all possible assistance.
He stated that sites have been identified for the 11 satellite townships proposed by Honorable Chief Minister Shri Samrat Chaudhary, and this is an ambitious and far-reaching initiative for the state’s urban development. Along with the development of these townships, a proposal is also under consideration in Rohtas. Developing these 11 townships will be our priority. Additionally, master plans for other urban areas will be prepared to expand civic amenities keeping in mind the needs of the next 50 years.
The Honorable Minister stated that the department will continuously work towards strengthening waste management, electricity systems, city surveillance, sanitation, and modern civic amenities in urban areas. He stated that meeting the public’s expectations is his paramount responsibility, and he will discharge this responsibility with complete dedication.
He said, “May God give me the strength to meet the expectations of the people of Bihar with complete devotion and honesty.”
Present on the occasion were Department Secretary Mr. Sandeep R. Pudkalkatti, Patna Division Commissioner Mr. Animesh Kumar Parashar, Special Secretary Mr. Rajiv Kumar Srivastava, Additional Secretary Mr. Vijay Prakash Meena, and other senior department officials. All officials welcomed the Honorable Minister and expressed their commitment to the effective conduct of departmental work.
