Patna | June 07, 2026;The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sports Training Centre (STC), Patna, successfully organized a special edition of “Fit India Sunday on Cycle” on the occasion of World Bicycle Day 2026, in collaboration with the Government of Bihar and various partner organizations. The event was aimed at promoting fitness, environmental sustainability, and healthy lifestyle habits through cycling under the Fit India Movement.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 1,000 cyclists, athletes, youth volunteers, fitness enthusiasts, officials, personnel from armed and paramilitary forces, public sector undertakings, and members of civil society organizations.
The event was organized with the support of Decathlon Patna, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, NDRF, RPF, NCC Patna, ESIC Regional Office Patna, Bihar Olympic Association, Bihar Cycling Association, Bihar Yogasana Association, Bihar Sepak Takraw Association, Bihar Gymnastics Association, PEFI Bihar Chapter, Kreeda Bharati, CA Association of India (Patna Chapter), Patanjali Wellness Centre, Team CISRO, My Bharat, and several other organizations.
The cycling rally commenced from Income Tax Golambar, Patna, proceeded towards Patna Zoo, and concluded back at Income Tax Golambar. Participants successfully completed the 10-kilometre cycling ride with remarkable enthusiasm and energy.
The programme was graced by Shri Ratnesh Kushwaha, Hon’ble MLA, Patna Sahib, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests present on the occasion included Shri Ajay Kumar, President, Bihar Olympic Association; Shri Niranjan Kumar, Regional Director, ESIC Patna; Shri Kaushal Kumar, Secretary, Bihar Cycling Association; Col. Prakash Singh, NCC; and Col. Ram, NCC.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ratnesh Kushwaha emphasized the importance of adopting cycling as a regular fitness activity and encouraged citizens to dedicate at least one day every week to cycling. He highlighted that cycling not only enhances physical fitness but also contributes significantly to environmental conservation.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Someswar Rao, Centre In-Charge, SAI STC Patna, stated that the “Sunday on Cycle” programme is being organized every Sunday at different locations to encourage citizens to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle. He noted that the initiative motivates people of all age groups to remain physically active and make cycling a regular part of their daily lives.
The event concluded successfully with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders towards promoting fitness, active lifestyles, and environmental awareness under the Fit India Movement.
