On Saturday (June 27, 2026), a suicide attack took place in Karachi, Pakistan, killing four Pakistani Rangers. Pakistan has blamed India for the attack, prompting New Delhi to rebuke Islamabad.
On Sunday (June 28, 2026), India categorically rejected Pakistan’s allegations linking New Delhi to the terrorist attack in Karachi, calling these claims baseless. New Delhi also urged Islamabad to focus on dismantling the terrorist infrastructure operating from its country.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have seen Pakistani reports making baseless allegations against India regarding the recent incident in Karachi.” We categorically reject them. The MEA spokesperson further stated that instead of pointing fingers at others, Pakistan should introspect, take credible action against the terrorist infrastructure within its territory, and shed its tendency to rely on terrorism as a tool for state policy.
This response from the Ministry of External Affairs comes a day after Pakistani security forces claimed to have foiled a terrorist attack on a Sindh Rangers camp in Karachi. The attack involved a 90-minute gunfight, killing six terrorists and arresting one other. According to Pakistani officials, the attack occurred on Saturday (June 28, 2026) at the Sindh Rangers’ Bhittai Wing headquarters in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area, killing four Rangers.
It is reported that the attackers first attempted to gain entry by detonating a large explosion at the camp’s main gate. However, Pakistani Rangers deployed there prevented the terrorists from entering the camp. It is also being reported that the captured terrorist is an Afghan national. Following this major attack, security forces cordoned off the entire area and are searching for the remaining terrorists. A search operation is underway.
