18 new power substations are being constructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the summer season
-There will be no tripping or breakdowns even if the city consumes 1000 MW of electricity
-Transformers are at peak load during the intense heat of May-June
Patna, April 9.
The Electricity Department is preparing a new master plan for uninterrupted power supply in the capital. Under this plan, residents will not face the problem of power tripping and breakdowns even if the daily power consumption in the city exceeds 1000 MW. This summer, 18 new power substations are being constructed in the capital within three months. This will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the public even during the intense heat of May-June. Providing more information on this subject, PESU GM Dilip Singh said that in view of the increasing power load in the city every year, maintenance work under the RDSS is being completed rapidly.
Construction of Power Substations in Final Stage at 18 Locations
PESU GM Dilip Singh stated that new power substations are being constructed at 18 locations in the capital. Construction is underway at Ranipur, Nandlal Chhapra, Kothwan, DPS More, near Vidyut Bhawan MLA Flats, Bahadurpur, Anand Bazar, near Danapur Block Office, Pahadi, Bhagwatipur, Nausa, Bairia, and other locations. It is expected that all PSSs will be charged and operational within the next two to three months.
Power Outages Will Not Exist Even During Heat Waves
It is worth noting that two 10 MVA power transformers will be installed in these 18 PSSs being constructed. This will increase the power supply to 360 MVA in the PESU area of the capital. Currently, power is supplied from 84 power substations in Patna. This year, it is estimated that power consumption in the capital could exceed 1000 MW. For which all the preparations have been completed under the project.
