The Bombay High Court ordered the Disha Salian investigation to be taken away from the Mumbai Police and handed over to the CBI. Aditya Thackeray, Rhea Chakraborty, Dino Morea, Paramveer Singh, and others were dealt a major blow when, under their supervision, the Mumbai Police had reported Disha Salian’s suicide, seemingly providing them with relief.
When the CBI took over the case from the Mumbai Police, Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, filed an FIR naming these individuals. Despite the setback, their demeanor suggested they could manage the CBI. Even after 56 days of taking over the case, when the CBI did not conduct a custodial inquiry, the public began to suspect that the accused might be using their influence to mislead the CBI.
Despite the CBI having not taken any significant action against the accused named in the Disha Salian case, despite 56 days having passed, it is natural for these accused to resort to manipulation, and for the public to lose faith in the investigating agency. However, the ED and NCB have uncovered evidence during their investigation into the Sushant Singh Rajput case that will neither allow the CBI to slacken in its work nor allow accused like Aditya Thackeray, Paramveer Singh, Rhea Chakraborty, and Diona Mario Morea to resort to manipulation. Let us now learn about the ED and NCB’s specific investigation report in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
The full details of how and in which cases the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) entered into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case are as follows:
ED (Enforcement Directorate) Entry and Case
Complaint and Case: Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, K.K. Singh, filed an FIR in Patna. It alleged that Rhea Chakraborty and her family had illegally withdrawn or laundered approximately ₹15 crore from Sushant’s bank account.
ED’s Entry: To investigate this money laundering angle, the ED entered the case on July 31, 2020, and began questioning Rhea Chakraborty and others.
Findings of the Investigation: During the ED’s investigation, it was revealed that no major or direct transfers from Sushant’s accounts to Rhea’s were detected, but several other financial transactions and Sushant Singh Rajput’s mobile phone chats were being examined.
Narcotics (NCB / Narcotics Control Bureau) Entry and Case
Chat Disclosure: While the ED was investigating financial transactions and Rhea Chakraborty’s phone chats, WhatsApp chats related to drugs (narcotics) between Rhea and others surfaced.
NCB’s entry: The ED shared this drug chat and evidence with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the CBI. Subsequently, in August 2020, the NCB registered a criminal case in the matter and began investigating the drug angle.
What was the matter:
The chats mentioned the purchase and sale of banned drugs, marijuana, CBD oil, and other narcotics.
The investigation revealed that the drugs for Sushant were allegedly arranged by Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s manager Samuel Miranda, and Dipesh Sawant, among others.
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB in September 2020 in this case, and later released on bail from the Bombay High Court. Subsequently, several other drug peddlers and suppliers associated with this drug connection were also arrested.
