NIA arrests terrorist suspect; Caught while trying to fly to Syria

Bengaluru: NIA arrested a suspected terrorist, identified as Arif, who is associated with an international terrorist organization. His arrest was the result of a joint operation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Karnataka Police.

This was officially informed by Karnataka Home Minister Araga Janendra. Minister tweeted that anyone who plans to have links with organizations that want to weaken India by spreading communalism and disrupting peace and harmony in the society will be subjugated.

Mohammad Arif was arrested by the police from Thanisandra in Bengaluru on Friday night. Arif was arrested when he was about to leave for a foreign trip. The plan was to go to Syria from Aligarh. Hailing from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, Arif settled in Bengaluru four years ago.

He has a wife and two children. Arif is currently being interrogated.
