The country’s main opposition party, the Congress, has now launched a front against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) on Saturday (September 5, 2026). Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge sharply criticized PM Modi’s “angry uncle” remark, alleging that it was an opportunity to communicate with the country’s youth about education and their future, but he once again turned it into political propaganda.
Kharge said that in a democracy, the opposition is given new adjectives year after year to avoid questions, so that their own failures can be hidden! Adjectives keep changing, but the Modi government’s anti-people policies remain unchanged.
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge shared a post on the social media platform X on Sunday (September 6, 2026). In the post, he said that Narendra Modi visited Delhi University’s SRCC yesterday. It was an opportunity for a dialogue on the country’s youth, education, and their future, but unfortunately, instead of addressing the youth’s questions, the speech devolved into political propaganda.
He said that Modi’s working style is to suppress questions in democracy by giving the opposition new adjectives year after year, so that his own failures can be hidden. “Angry uncle,” “brainy Naxal,” “urban Naxal,” “Khan Market gang,” “agitator,” and “parasite”—adjectives keep changing, but the Modi government’s anti-people policies remain unchanged.
Kharge said that Modi ji, outreach has to be done only when you are out of reach. The Prime Minister showed his report card. The youth of the country is also standing with its report card. This report card includes unemployment, government recruitments stuck for years, students troubled by paper leaks, increasing cost of education, decreasing scholarship opportunities and increasing pressure on the autonomy of universities. Listen to the voice of the students, no solution will come from talking here and there.
