Vishwa Sindhi Seva Samaj President Raju Mandwani claimed in a media statement that Champat Rai had donated 10 silver bricks weighing 20 kg each to the Ram Temple in 2021, but he has yet to receive a receipt. He claimed the total weight of the silver bricks was 200 kg. Sources say that based on this news, misleading and false news about the bricks being stolen was circulated on social media. When the matter reached Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed on his instructions was provided with a list of items by the Trust, which disproved the claims being made on social media.
Sources say that the bricks donated by Raju Mandwani were sent to the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India for melting. This list bears the signatures of Trust and Corporation officials. Boxes 10 through 17 on page 96 of the list mention the melting of the silver bricks. The silver bricks were in the Trust’s custody and were melted. Claims of brick theft are false.
Regarding the allegations of alleged corruption within the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust in Ayodhya, Supreme Court advocate P.N. Mishra stated that the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, both associated with the Trust, are welcome. He stated that investigating the matter solely at the SIT level would not be sufficient. He stated that for an impartial investigation, a five-member bench should be constituted through the full court, ensuring a transparent hearing and investigation of the entire matter.
P.N. Mishra also stated that the executive should be completely separated from the judiciary. He believes that no government official should be involved in the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. He suggested that the trust should be run by saints and sages, as they understand and practice religion and have greater faith and responsibility to it. This statement is from Supreme Court advocate PN Mishra.
