Bhopal: One of the major attractions of the 8th edition of India International Science Festival (IISF) being held in Bhopal is the “Mega Science and Technology Exhibition”. The exhibition will display the strengths and achievements of the Government, corporate, public sector undertakings, academic, and research and development institutes, innovators & entrepreneurs from across the country. Major developments, major accomplishments and the significant contributions of Indian Science and Technology to society will be showcased in the exhibition.
IISF exhibition will feature various initiatives by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last eight years, like Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Swachh Bharat, Digital India, Skill India, Make in India, etc. Also, to mark the 75th Anniversary of India’s independence, the exhibits of this edition will have a special focus on ‘Science Technology Innovation in Amrit Kaal and Achievements@75’. The exhibition will act as a platform for people from the research and industrial sectors to interact with the general public.
The exhibition also emphasizes the various scientific activities in different parts of the country highlighting the art, culture, and traditions of the regions. By providing a deeper glimpse into the research expanding the bounds of human knowledge, the scientific exhibition hopes to enhance awareness and interest in this area among a wide range of audiences, including students from schools, colleges, and universities.
Partners in business, academia, the scientific community, government, policymakers, journalists, and members of the public are included in the initiative’s outreach efforts. This wide range of attendees is intended to facilitate more communication and collaboration among all parties involved, leading to the fertilisation of new ideas.
IISF 2022 is a collaborative effort of the Govt. of India and Indian state government agencies, including the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Earth Sciences, the Department of Atomic Energy, the Department of Space, the Government of Madhya Pradesh, and the Government of India.
The festival is centrally coordinated by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology. Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) will serve as the knowledge partner, with the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCOST) as the local partner. The Department of Biotechnology’s Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) in Faridabad is spearheading the festival’s planning.
