US President Donald Trump shared a statement calling India and China the gates to hell. However, this isn’t the first time Trump has targeted India and China. He began his second term in office with an attack on both countries. This statement was made by conservative author and radio host Michael Savage. In it, Savage claimed that current US law allows immigrants to arrive in the US in the “ninth month” of their pregnancy and take advantage of local laws.
In the statement shared by Trump, Savage states that a child becomes a citizen immediately, and then they bring the entire family from China, India, or some other hellhole in the world. You don’t have to look far to see this. English is no longer spoken here. It states that immigrants make it difficult for Americans to find jobs. He believes that immigrants are usurping Americans’ rights.
Foreign policy expert Adil Brar wrote on X that Trump’s statement wasn’t made out of the blue. It was referring to manufacturing, trade, and jobs. He further explained that the letter argues that American companies shifted production to countries like India and China because wages were lower, regulations were less stringent, and profits were higher—while American workers were left behind. This is the core argument Trump has been making for years: that globalization has undermined American industry.
He further explained that, from this perspective, the term “hell” isn’t really about culture—it’s about how these countries are portrayed as low-cost production hubs where companies can maximize profits by relaxing regulations. But this is where the matter gets a little complicated. Today’s India isn’t just a country of cheap labor. It is an emerging economic superpower, a key strategic partner of the United States, and a major player in technology, space, and global politics.
