October 7, 2001. This is the date when Narendra Modi first became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Before becoming the Chief Minister, he had no experience in government. However, he did have extensive experience in running an organization. In 1985, Narendra Modi joined the BJP from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He was then appointed the Organization Minister. In 15 years, Modi rose from the Gujarat unit to the BJP’s National Executive. He became the Chief Minister of Gujarat directly on October 7, 2001.
Narendra Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014. On May 26, 2014, Modi directly became the Prime Minister of the country. These are the 25 years when Narendra Modi did not lose a single election. To mark the completion of these 25 years of Narendra Modi’s leadership, the BJP named the “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.” A grand event was held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi. PM Modi delivered a historic speech.
During his speech in Delhi, PM Modi not only recalled the country’s 25-year history but also outlined his vision for the future. He listed some goals for the public.

PM Modi further said, “Friends, this energy, this enthusiasm, this confidence is amazing. Ladies and gentlemen, such confidence flows like blood in the veins of the people of this nation that no one can stop it.”
Referring to a verse (47) from Chapter 2 of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, “Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana,” PM Modi said, “The Gita has taught me that I have control over my actions. Therefore, I consider my actions my duty. I perform every action to the best of my ability, without worrying about the results.”
In his speech, PM Modi mentioned everything from the COVID pandemic to Chandrayaan. He said that Chandrayaan taught us to rise from failure. COVID-19 has awakened the nation’s collective consciousness. He noted that Chandrayaan-2 was launched on July 22, 2019. Vikram Lander was scheduled to land on the lunar surface on September 6, 2019, but crashed in the final 15 minutes.
PM Modi once again mentioned Captain Smit Machhar, the hero pilot who prevented a plane hijacking and saved the lives of Israeli passengers. He said that today, Indian pilots are being talked about worldwide. A day will come when the world will also be talking about Made in India planes.
Recalling his school days in Vadnagar, PM Modi said, “I remember going to school in Vadnagar. Our teacher would teach in a variety of ways. I was always among the first to arrive in class. That eagerness to learn became a part of my life, and I still consider myself a student.”
