The death of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, is once again in the headlines. The FIR filed by the CBI in this case names former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, his son and former minister Aditya Thackeray, and several others. The FIR seeks investigation into serious charges including murder, gang rape, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence, and providing false information.
However, the mere mention of a person’s name in an FIR does not in itself prove them guilty or guilty. Their role will be determined based on the evidence uncovered during the investigation. Further legal action will be determined based on the facts, evidence, and statements that emerge during the investigation.
The FIR also names Uddhav Thackeray along with Aditya Thackeray. Furthermore, an investigation has been sought into the roles of Rohan Roy, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Aditya Thackeray’s bodyguard, Rhea Chakraborty, and Showik Chakraborty. The list also includes the names of several police officers and government employees, including Sachin Vaze, Parambir Singh, DCP Vishal Thakur, and then-Minister Anil Deshmukh. The FIR also calls for an investigation into the role of officers associated with the Malvani police station. These include API Ashok Devade, PI Jagdev Kalapad, PI Shailendra Nagarkar, PI Chimaji Adhav, and PI Arjun Rajane. Furthermore, an investigation has been sought into the role of doctors and staff involved in the post-mortem, Forensic Science Lab officials, and other police officers.
The FIR alleges a possible conspiracy behind Disha Salian’s death and that attempts were made to suppress the case. It also alleges that a false narrative was fabricated and propagated to portray the death as a suicide. There are also concerns that government records, documents, and files related to the case were allegedly destroyed, suppressed, or altered. The FIR also alleges that government employees, the police machinery, and government resources were used to protect certain individuals. However, these are merely allegations made in the FIR and cannot yet be considered proven facts in court.
The FIR calls for investigations into the roles of several individuals for alleged criminal conspiracy, attempts to portray death as suicide, and suppression or destruction of evidence. These include Aditya Thackeray, Rohan Roy, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Aditya Thackeray’s bodyguards, Rhea Chakraborty, and Showik Chakraborty. Furthermore, investigations are sought into the roles of police and government officials, including Sachin Vaze, Parambir Singh, DCP Vishal Thakur, Uddhav Thackeray, and Anil Deshmukh. The FIR also names security guards at the Regent Galaxy building, along with Sushil Kumar Yadav and Shivmurad Gautam alias Munna. The FIR also demands an investigation into the role of senior members of the SIT and the senior police officers under whose supervision the investigation and interrogation allegedly took place.
The biggest question in this case is about arrest. However, simply being named in an FIR does not guarantee a person’s arrest. Following an FIR, the investigating agency gathers evidence, records statements, and examines documents and other evidence. Only if sufficient evidence is found against a person of involvement in a crime can they be arrested or subject to other legal action. Therefore, it would not be correct to say at this time that the arrest of Uddhav Thackeray or Aditya Thackeray is certain simply because they are named in the FIR.
The most important questions facing the CBI now will be what evidence supports the allegations made in the FIR and the roles of various individuals. The investigating agency will also examine whether anyone participated in the alleged conspiracy, whether there were attempts to destroy evidence or influence the investigation, and whether sufficient material exists to substantiate these allegations.
The case demands investigation into serious charges such as murder, gang rape, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence, and providing false information. While the charges are serious, their inclusion in the FIR does not prove a person’s guilt. A person’s criminal responsibility will be determined by the evidence that emerges during the investigation and the subsequent judicial process. Currently, this case can be understood in three ways.
Second, many prominent names are involved, but simply listing a name does not prove a person guilty or accused.
Third, arrests and further legal action will depend on the evidence that emerges during the investigation.
The focus now remains on how the investigating agency pursues the allegations made in the FIR and what new facts emerge during the investigation.
