The Delhi High Court has received a bomb threat. A day before Independence Day, August 15th, an email threatening to bomb several locations, including the High Court, Red Fort, Delhi Metro, and IGI Airport, has caused a stir. A complaint has been filed with the Delhi Police. The Registrar General of the Delhi High Court is in contact with the Delhi Police. A threatening email in the name of Khalistan was sent to the Delhi High Court before August 15th.
This email claims a bomb blast at the Delhi High Court on August 15th at 2:11 pm. A bomb blast at the District Court is also threatened at 3:11 pm. The email reads, “Delhi will become Khalistan.” The threatening message mentions targeting the Delhi High Court, the Delhi Metro, and trains to Ambala. The message mentions Babbar Khalsa (Parmar-Canada).
Officials with the Delhi High Court Bar Association have confirmed that the threat is false. Police are taking all security measures to address the matter.
The email also uses threatening language against Home Minister Amit Shah and the courts. Several other locations, including Jandiala Guru in Punjab, are also mentioned. Security agencies are on high alert following the emergence of the threatening email. The process of identifying the email and its sender is underway. Bomb threats have been sent to five additional locations for August 15th. These include the Delhi High Court, Jam Nagar House, Jhandewalan Building, Saket Office, District Magistrate Office, Terminal 3 IGI, and the SDM Office in Delhi Cantt. Security agencies are on high alert. Fire engines are present at the scene. However, the investigation so far has not revealed anything suspicious. Police and administration are on alert mode.
