The Congress party has taunted the government and demanded an explanation for the simultaneous removal of four officials from Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav’s office. The Congress party stated that the simultaneous removal of a Union Minister’s entire staff cannot be considered normal administrative procedure and that the government should make public the reasons behind this action.
On Tuesday, the Congress party questioned the central government over the sudden removal of four officials from Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav’s office. The party stated that the public has a right to know the reasons behind the decision to remove four officials at once.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, in a post on the social media platform X, sarcastically said, “The news of the dismissal of four members of the staff of the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change is shocking. It is no secret how such appointments are made under the Modi regime. Can there be so much smoke without fire?” Could this be a case of the Prime Minister’s “Give donations, get business” scheme going awry?
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also demanded the government make public the reason behind this action against the officials. She said that four officials, including Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav’s personal secretary, have been removed with immediate effect. It is not unusual for a Union Minister’s entire staff to be replaced at once. What kind of irregularities were taking place there? If any irregularities have occurred, the public has every right to know the truth.
Indeed, the central government issued separate orders, relieving four officials posted in the office of Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav from their posts with immediate effect. These officials include Amar Singh, a 2010 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer who served as Bhupendra Yadav’s private secretary. According to the government order, they have been repatriated to their parent department, the Department of Revenue, on administrative grounds.
Additionally, Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officer Shailesh Kumar Singh, who served as the Union Minister’s Additional Private Secretary, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent department, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), under the Extended Cooling Off (EPO) provision. Ayush Sharan, who served as Additional Private Secretary in Bhupendra Yadav’s office, has also been relieved of his post with immediate effect. The government order stated that his appointment has been terminated.
Furthermore, the appointment of Siddharth Yadav, Assistant Private Secretary to Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, has been terminated with immediate effect. He has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect. Questioning these developments, the Congress party stated that the simultaneous removal of four officers from the Union Minister’s office raises several questions. The party demanded that the central government explain to the nation the real reason behind this action.
