Chitrakoot: In a tragic incident on the National Highway near Bagrehi village in Chitrakoot district, a devastating head-on collision between a Janrath bus and a Bolero claimed the lives of five passengers, including a child, and left 10 others injured. The scene was quickly attended by authorities, including the District Magistrate (DM), Superintendent of Police (SP), and a team of dedicated police personnel.
Following the collision, immediate medical assistance was provided as three ambulances swiftly transported the injured to the district hospital and Ramnagar hospital. Meanwhile, three critically wounded individuals were referred to Prayagraj for specialized care. Identification of one deceased passenger from Madhya Pradesh remains ongoing as authorities work diligently on this matter.
The Janrath bus was reportedly traveling from Chitrakoot to Prayagraj, while the Bolero was heading in the opposite direction towards Chitrakoot. Eyewitnesses disclosed that the collision occurred due to the Bolero abruptly swerving into the wrong lane, resulting in the tragic impact. Witnesses described the force of the collision as substantial, with the Bolero suffering severe damage and three individuals tragically losing their lives on the spot.
The authorities are continuing their investigations into the incident, aiming to ascertain the precise sequence of events that led to this heartbreaking collision near Bagrehi village.
