#Southern -states #benefit #increased- seats# confusion # Amit Shah explained the entire mathematics #delimitation in the Lok Sabha
There was a huge uproar in Parliament on Thursday (April 16) regarding the delimitation and women’s reservation bills. Union Home Minister Amit Shah clarified several points regarding delimitation. Responding to the opposition, he said that confusion was being spread regarding the delimitation issue. The Home Minister stated that the seats of southern Indian states would increase.
Amit Shah stated in the Lok Sabha about delimitation that southern states would not suffer any loss; rather, their seats would increase. Amit Shah said, “Misconceptions are being spread that the three bills will reduce the southern states’ strength in the House and disadvantage them. Karnataka currently has 28 seats, representing 5.15 percent. After the constitutional amendment, the number will increase to 43, meaning there will be no loss at all.” He said that Karnataka has 28 seats, representing 5.15 percent. After the bill is passed, it will have 42 seats, representing 5.14 percent. Telangana has 17 seats, representing 3.13 percent, which will increase to 26. Tamil Nadu’s power will also not decrease. Currently, it has 39 seats, representing 7.18 percent, which will increase to 59, representing 7.23 percent. Currently, there are 129 MPs, representing 23.76 percent. Later, there will be 195 MPs, representing 23.97 percent. The power of the southern states will increase to 816 seats. Andhra Pradesh currently has 25 seats, representing 4.60 percent, which will increase to 38.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha on women’s reservation and delimitation, Amit Shah said that an incident occurred where elections were being held in Tamil Nadu and Bengal, and this new Act was passed. I make it clear that this Delimitation Commission report will only be implemented when Parliament accepts it and the President approves it. This is not a question of happening before 2029, and even if elections are held by 2029, they will be held on all the old seats and under the old system, so Akhilesh Yadav has no need to fear.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha on women’s reservation and delimitation, Amit Shah said that they (the opposition) said that the government does not want to conduct a caste census. The government’s cabinet, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, has decided to conduct a caste census, and the next census is going to be a caste census.
