Unauthorized appointments exposed in Construction Welfare Fund Board

Date:

Thiruvananthapuram: As many as sixteen unauthorized appointments have been found in Building Construction Welfare Fund Board. During the inspection by the District Employment Officer, it was found that 16 people were appointed through the back door.

Despite the instructions of the employment officer to cancel the illegal appointment, the board has not taken any action, reports Asianet news. The inspection was conducted at the Welfare Fund Office by the Employment Market Information under the leadership of the Employment Officer.

There has been a widespread irregularity in the appointments made in the last six years. 16 persons working in the office since 2016 including 9 clerks, 4 data entry operators, 2 office attendants and a part-time sweeper have not even been given appointment orders.

They were given the appointment message only over the phone. Many people do not even have adequate educational qualifications. Based on the findings of the inspection, the Employment Officer requested the District Executive Officer of the Welfare Fund Office to dismiss them as soon as possible.

It was also directed to appoint the employees through employment exchange instead, however, no actions were taken.
