BPSC Releases TRE-4 Notification Amid Protests,Hiring 32,388 Teacher Positions in Bihar

The notification for the TRE-4 teacher recruitment in Bihar has finally been released. The Bihar Public Service Commission has issued a notification for this major recruitment exam, which has been the subject of protests by candidates for the past several months. Applications are invited for a total of 32,388 positions under this recruitment process. Thousands of candidates gathered in Patna and pressured the government over this issue. This notification, issued amid student protests, may provide some relief to the Bihar government.

Application Requirements
Classes 1 to 5: Must pass CTET Paper-I or BTET Paper-I
Classes 6 to 8: Must pass CTET Paper-II or BTET Paper-II
Classes 9 to 10: Must pass STET Paper-I
Classes 11 to 12: Must pass STET Paper-II
How many marks are required in the TET?
General (Male): 60%
General (Female)/OBC/Extremely Backward Class: 55%
SC/ST/Disabled: 50%

Qualifications
Primary Teacher (Classes 1 to 5): 12th (Intermediate) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed.
Middle School Teacher (Classes 6 to 8): Graduation in a relevant subject and a D.El.Ed. or B.Ed.
Secondary Teacher (Classes 9 to 10): Graduation/Post-Graduation and a B.Ed. in a relevant subject with a minimum of 50% marks
Higher Secondary Teacher (Classes 11 to 12): Graduation and a B.Ed. in a relevant subject with a minimum of 50% marks
Age Limit (as of August 1, 2026)
Classes 1-5 and 6-8: 18 years
Classes 9-10 and 11-12: 21 years
Maximum Age Limit: 37 years (Unreserved Category)
Unreserved (Female)/BC/EBC: 40 years
SC/ST (Male and Female): 42 years
What will be the exam pattern?
MCQ, total 150 questions
Total exam of 150 marks
Time of 2 hours 30 minutes
1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
Each question will have 5 options (A, B, C, D, E).
No marks will be deducted for unsolved questions.
Reservation and Important Rules
Regarding domicile rules, reservation in this recruitment will be available only to native residents of Bihar. In the reservation for women, 50% reservation will be given in the primary teacher (1-5) posts and 35% reservation in middle, secondary, and higher secondary. To claim reservation, caste, income, and creamy layer-free (NCL) certificates with father’s name and address will be required.
