Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Naveen has announced his new team. The party has given important responsibilities to several leaders who have long been discussed in political circles. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and senior BJP leader Ram Madhav have been appointed national vice presidents. Together, a total of 13 leaders have been appointed to these positions.
Former Union Minister and former Amethi MP Smriti Irani has been appointed national general secretary. Besides her, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has also been appointed national general secretary. The party has appointed eight leaders from seven states as general secretaries. Uttar Pradesh has the highest share in the list of general secretaries. In addition to Smriti Irani, former MP Harish Dwivedi has also been appointed national general secretary. This clearly indicates that Uttar Pradesh has been given special importance in the BJP’s new team.
Following the announcement of the new team, the most discussed topics are Vasundhara Raje and Ram Madhav. Both leaders have been relatively less involved in active central BJP politics for some time. Consequently, their return as National Vice Presidents is being considered a significant signal within the party. Vasundhara Raje has long been a prominent figure in the BJP’s political landscape in Rajasthan, while Ram Madhav has been a key figure in the party’s organizational strategy, particularly in matters related to the Northeast and Jammu and Kashmir. The inclusion of both leaders in the national team certainly signals that the party leadership sees them once again playing an active role at the national level.
