Can humans live up to 150 years? This research sparked a debate.

Date:

The idea of extending human lifespan has long fascinated scientists. Modern medicine has made significant advances, but scientists are still searching for ways to slow the aging process and prevent age-related diseases. Recently, a Chinese biotech company has sparked a new debate on this topic.

Shenzhen-based startup Lonvi Biosciences claims to have developed an experimental pill that could potentially extend human lifespan to 150 years in the future. According to the company, their research focuses on eliminating harmful cells in the body that accelerate the aging process. Reports on social media and scientific forums suggest that this drug uses compounds derived from grape seeds to target specific types of cells in the body, commonly known as “zombie cells.”

In scientific terms, these are called senescent cells. These are cells that have become damaged or aged and stop dividing but don’t die. Instead, they persist in the body and release inflammatory chemicals into the surrounding environment. Over time, the accumulation of these cells can lead to a number of problems. Scientists believe these cells may play a role in aging-related diseases such as heart disease, arthritis, and neurological problems.

The company claims that this pill, using compounds derived from grape seeds, can help eliminate these dysfunctional cells in the body. Reducing these cells could reduce inflammation and tissue damage. In longevity research, scientists are already working on drugs called senolytics, which aim to eliminate these senescent cells. Initial experiments have shown some positive results in animals, such as improved physical capacity and delayed age-related decline.

However, scientists say that it may take a long time before any such drug is proven safe and effective for humans. Any new therapy must undergo several phases of clinical trials before it becomes available to the general public.
