The announcement was made by Dr. Amitav Banerjee, Chairperson of the UHO, who emphasized the urgency of addressing potential ethical and structural vulnerabilities in public health policy.
According to Dr. Amitav, UHO’s research reveals a gradual takeover of India’s public health system by corporate and foundation-aligned interests over the past two decades. This shift, he claims, began in the early 2000s with the foundation’s involvement in combating HIV/AIDS and has since expanded to areas including vaccine programs and infrastructure management.
