The DGCA has completely banned the carrying of a specific power bank on flights. This decision was taken due to a recent fire on an aircraft caused by a power bank. This power bank is called the Mobikins MK-PB-04. This power bank will now be banned on domestic and inbound flights to and from India. Recently, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Chennai had to be diverted mid-way to Hyderabad due to a passenger’s power bank catching fire. Therefore, no one will be able to fly in India with the Mobikins MK-PB-04 power bank.
The DGCA has banned the Mobikins MK-PB-04 power bank from air travel.
The DGCA has clarified that a fire incident involving this power bank has been reported.
Given the security risks, both passengers and airlines have been strictly instructed not to allow this power bank onto the plane under any circumstances.

DGCA chief Vikram Yadav has issued an order directing all airlines to inspect passengers’ power banks and prohibit carrying this model on board.

Airlines will also communicate this information to passengers through other communication channels, warning them not to fly with the Mobikins MK-PB-04 power bank.

Do not carry the power bank in your luggage. Keep it in your check-in bag or in a bag that you can carry on your seat or keep in front of you. Use the power bank before boarding the plane. Do not charge your device with the power bank or charge it in any way during the flight. If possible, discharge the power bank before boarding.
