After the Congress Working Committee meeting, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi attacked the Election Commission and the BJP, saying that PM Modi himself will get Gyanesh Kumar to resign.
Rahul said that the Chief Election Commissioner cannot work without protection. Gyanesh Kumar has the protection of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. The CEC must go. His resignation is certain. The Prime Minister himself will get Gyanesh Kumar to resign. We must reach out to the public. Now, 80 percent of people are accepting vote theft as justified.
A day before the India Alliance meeting, the Congress demanded the resignation of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The resolution passed at the meeting demanded the immediate resignation of the CEC, a halt to the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists in several states, and the reinstatement of over 1.3 million names removed from the voter list.
The CWC resolution stated that this brazen vote theft was perpetrated by PM Modi and the Home Minister. Without their resignation, the protection of our Constitution and hard-won democracy cannot be ensured.
Congress MP and party organization general secretary KC Venugopal said that this issue will also be raised at the India Alliance meeting on Wednesday, where leaders will decide on a nationwide movement against vote theft.
He said that tomorrow is the India Alliance meeting. Congress definitely wants to launch a major movement with the help of all political parties to save democracy in the country. We will receive important suggestions from the members of the India Alliance. After this, we will prepare a clear action plan for the future movement.
