Indian-origin Ajay Banga nominated as the head of World Bank

New Delhi: Ajay Banga is an Indian-American business executive who currently serves as the CEO of Mastercard, one of the world’s leading financial services companies. With more than 30 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, Banga is widely regarded as one of the most influential business leaders of his generation.

Banga was born on October 24, 1959, in Pune, India, and grew up in Delhi. He graduated from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi with a degree in economics and later earned an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. After completing his education, Banga began his career in the banking industry, working for companies such as Citibank and Nestle.
