Prashant Kishore, the architect of the Jan Suraj Party, who has transformed from an election strategist to a politician, is contesting his first election as a candidate. Jan Suraj has declared him as its official candidate for the by-election to the high-profile Bankipur Assembly seat in Patna. This decision was made unanimously at the party’s core committee meeting. Jan Suraj State President Manoj Bharti announced PK’s name in a press conference on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
After being nominated, Prashant Kishore said, “I express my gratitude to the party workers, senior leaders, and the people of Bihar for entrusting me with such a huge responsibility. I will fully fulfill the responsibility entrusted to me to contest the Bankipur election.” He added, “I will continue to fight until change is achieved in Bihar in the next five years.”
Prashant Kishore said, “I thank all the voters who voted for Jan Suraj in November 2025. I promise the people of Bankipur that I will work with complete honesty. I assure you that if you elect a representative of Jan Suraj as your public representative, he will outweigh the 242 MLAs.”
During the press conference, Prashant Kishore also launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Targeting CM Samrat, he said, “He (Samrat Chaudhary) became the Chief Minister through the back door and is a selected CM. His true tactics, character, and true face will soon be revealed to the people of Bihar.”
