Date:

Mumbai: Controversy has arisen over a song in the film Pathan starring Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan. Hinduist organizations and BJP leaders have expressed displeasure over how the film’s song was shot with the saffron-coloured dress. At the same time, people are campaigning to boycott the film by giving different reactions on social media.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra expressed displeasure over the film’s song and said that if it is not corrected, the film will not be allowed to be screened in his state. Apart from this, organizations ranging from Hindu Saint Samaj to nationalist organizations have raised objections regarding Deepika’s dress in the song. Mahant Raju Das of Ayodhya even went so far as to say that Shahrukh Khan’s film should be boycotted and the theatre where this film is shown should be burnt.

However, Deepika and Shahrukh got Bollywood support after the film got embroiled in controversy. Minister Narottam Mishra had warned the makers of the film Pathan to change some scenes, after which film stars are also giving their reactions to this whole controversy. Famous South and Bollywood actor Prakash Raj criticized Narottam Mishra on social media and termed his statement ugly.

Bollywood actress Payal Rohatgi has also come out in support of Deepika, she said, now it is not that Deepika Padukone has kept the picture of our Gods associated with Sanatan Dharma in a bikini. In such a situation, it is not right to be targeted just because of the color. My dress was also the same color in the reality show I was in. We used to kick him and tear him apart. So, are we also wrong?’

However, along with the film’s controversy, its protest on the roads is also increasing. Shahrukh Khan’s effigy was burnt in protest against the film Pathan in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore.

However, the first reaction of Shahrukh Khan after this controversy has also come out. Shahrukh said that he doesn’t care what people are saying, some people’s work is to spread negativity on social media. He said that people like and love us that’s why we are positive.
