On the orders of the Bombay High Court, the Disha Salian murder and rape case was transferred from the Mumbai Police to the CBI. Following this, the CBI filed an FIR based on the statement of Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, naming Aditya Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray, Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Rohan Roy, Anil Deshmukh, and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Paramveer Singh.

Paramveer Singh is the same person whom Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, accused of abusing his position to protect influential individuals like Aditya Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray who raped and murdered Disha Salian. Although the CBI has not yet initiated action against Paramveer Singh or any of the accused in this case, it appears that Disha Salian’s spirit will not spare these individuals. Paramvir Singh, in particular, is now taking steps to get himself behind bars without any CBI action.

Paramvir Singh’s journey towards prison began with former ACP Bhimrao Ghadge’s allegations against him. Former ACP Bhimrao Ghadge filed a petition in the NIA court demanding a re-investigation of Paramvir Singh’s role in the Antilia and Mansukh Hiran murder cases. Bhimrao Ghadge claims that Sachin Vaze could not have carried out such a massive crime alone and that he reported directly to the then Police Commissioner Paramvir Singh.

This allegation leveled by former Inspector Bhimrao Ghadge against Paramvir Singh relates to corruption and other matters.

Following this, Paramvir Singh swung into action and, without the NIA court or the NIA’s request, filed an application in the NIA court, dismissing all of Bhimrao Ghadge’s allegations as baseless. He also attached an old report to this application, in which he had taken action against Ghadge. He also filed an affidavit to this effect.

This affidavit filed by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Paramvir Singh in the NIA court paved the way for his imprisonment.

According to media reports and court proceedings, the affidavit filed by Paramvir Singh bears his signature, but the signatures in the accompanying annexure are found to be different, i.e., a mismatch. The signature on page 13 of the affidavit and the signature in the annexure do not match, leading to debate as to whether the signatures or the document are genuine.

It is now emerging that the NIA court has asked the notary to submit CCTV footage from the area to confirm whether former Mumbai Police Commissioner Paramvir Singh actually appeared before the notary magistrate.

Paramvir Singh’s troubles appear to be worsening after the NIA court requested CCTV footage from a notary magistrate. Reports are currently circulating that Paramvir Singh fled via Nepal and is now living in Canada. If the notary magistrate provides him with CCTV footage of the area and finds that former Mumbai Police Commissioner Paramvir Singh is not present, he is certain to go to jail. Then, based on other evidence, he may eventually be implicated in the Disha Salian case.
