There has been a significant reduction in student migration from the state for studies. Students are receiving quality education within Bihar, providing them with better employment opportunities. The state’s Council of Ministers will soon be expanded. The new Chief Minister, Mr. Samrat Chaudhary, has resolved to carry forward the work and policies of former Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar. Work has already begun on this initiative. Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Mr. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, stated this during a press conference held in Patna on Wednesday.
Students from Bihar are now receiving technical education within Bihar*
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that since the formation of the government under the leadership of then-Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, significant progress has been made in all sectors, including education. Previously, students used to travel abroad to pursue education. Bihar’s money and resources were flowing abroad, but this has now stopped. Children in every region are studying and progressing. Thousands of students are pursuing engineering and polytechnic degrees every year and are becoming employable. He stated that the results of the policies formulated by then-Chief Minister Nitish Kumar under the Seven Resolves (7 Resolves) are now becoming apparent. Our children are now securing good jobs. The Deputy Chief Minister added that with the increase in the number of engineering and polytechnic colleges in the state, children are now able to study at home easily and at a lower cost, and their parents are feeling a sense of relief.

The Deputy Chief Minister stated that Centers of Excellence have been established in colleges. The quality of education in these colleges has been improved. As a result, demand for related courses has increased. Children in every area are studying and progressing. Children are benefiting from inclusive education. The Bihar government is providing 33% reservation to women and girls. This is leading to revolutionary change. As a result, Bihar is becoming a leading state in the country in women’s empowerment. He stated that this department is laying the foundation for building the future. In the coming years, Bihar’s youth will advance in the field of technology.
Technical education possible at government engineering and polytechnic colleges with minimal tuition fees – Secretary
Departmental Secretary Mr. Lokesh Kumar Singh stated that for the 2025-26 academic year, a total of 14,553 seats in government engineering colleges and 17,243 seats in polytechnic institutes have been approved. The most important thing is that the fees at these institutions are so affordable that even students from economically weaker sections can pursue a B.Tech without any burden. The enrollment fee for students pursuing B.Tech in government engineering colleges is only ₹10, and for students pursuing polytechnics, it is only ₹5. The government also patted itself on the back on the employment front, stating that the planning committee at the state level and the placement cell at the institute level are continuously active. As a result of these efforts, approximately 15,246 students have already found employment in various private companies in the year 2025-26.
The Director of the Department, Mr. Ahmed Mahmood, Secretary of the State Technical Education Board, Bihar, Mr. Chandrashekhar Singh, and the Vice Chancellor of Bihar Engineering University, Mr. Suresh Kant Verma, along with other senior officials of the department were present at the press conference.
