Patna, April 5, 2026: Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various schemes in Valmikinagar, West Champaran District. He also inspected several development works and issued necessary instructions to officials.
The Chief Minister inspected the restoration work of the Don Canal Branch Service Road in Valmikinagar. During the inspection, officials informed the Chief Minister that approximately 80 percent of the restoration work on the Don Canal Branch Service Road is complete. The road built on the canal embankment has been paved. The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the work soon. This canal is very useful for irrigation. A large number of farmers will benefit from this canal. The government is continuously working in the interest of farmers.
The Chief Minister inspected the construction of the Luv-Kush Eco-Tourism Park in front of the Gandak Dam reservoir and inquired about the facilities being provided there. Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the various areas being constructed within the Luv-Kush Eco-Tourism Park through a site plan. The Chief Minister also visited the Water Resources Department’s guest house and the Valmikinagar Eco-Park. He then visited the Gandak Barrage to assess the situation there.
The Chief Minister unveiled the plaque and laid the foundation stone for the “Eco-Tourism Centre – Valmikinagar, Division-2, Valmiki Tiger Reserve” from the Valmiki Auditorium complex. He also inaugurated the Vulture Conservation Centre, Gonauli, and Chiutahan.
The Chief Minister then flagged off the jungle safari vehicles. The Chief Minister stated that this would greatly facilitate the tourists’ visits to the jungle. Valmikinagar is being developed as an eco-tourism destination. The government has undertaken numerous developmental initiatives to promote tourism.
